Worsted weight yarn, 4.25 mm hook
Gauge not important, though if you're making the puffy heart, you'll want to make sure the holes between your stitches are small enough to hide the stuffing.
Rd 1 – sc 4, [sc 2 tog] x2, sc 3, sc 2 in last ch, ROTATE to
back of ch, sc 2 in 1st ch, sc 3, [sc 2 in next ch] x2, sc 3, sc 2
in last ch, slip stitch to join, ch 2, rotate to continue to next round - DO
NOT TURN
Rd 2 – sc 4, sc 3 tog, sc 3, [sc 2 in next st] x2, sc 6, sc
3 in next st, sc 6, sc 2 in last st, slip stitch to join, ch 2, rotate
Rd 3 – sc 3, [sc 2 tog] x2, sc 2, [sc 2 in next st] x 3, sc
7, [sc 2 in next st] x2, sc 7, [sc 2 in next st] x2, slip stitch to join, tie
off.
For a puffy heart, repeat appliqué pattern to make a second
heart, line up with “wrong/back” sides facing each other, slip stitch back
loops together, leaving a small opening. Stuff with desired stuffing, then slip
stitch remaining back loops to close, tie off, weave in ends.
