Worsted weight yarn, 5mm or smaller hook
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half-double crochet
dc = double crochet
Make a magic loop (a sort of reverse slip knot so that the pulling the tail tightens the loop)
In the center of the loop: sc 1*, ch 1, dc, dc, sc, dc, dc, hdc, sl st, hdc, dc, dc sc, dc dc hdc, sl st, hdc, dc, dc, sc, dc dc, hdc, sl st
Ch 5
Starting in 1st ch, sc 4
Slip stitch to first sc*
Pull tail to close the loop. Tie off both ends!
