FREE RECIPE Super Easy Granola

I never realized homemade granola was sooooo easy, tweakable, and SO MUCH MORE DELICIOUS than store bought stuff that's full of preservatives and has been sitting on the shelf for ages.

Basic Super Easy Granola:

Preheat oven to 325*.

In a large bowl, mix together:
5 cups of dry, rolled oats
1/2-1 cup of sliced nuts (I like almonds)
1/2 cup of any combo of the following: oat bran, wheat germ, chia seeds, or sesame seeds
A pinch or two of salt
OPTIONAL: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ect...

In small saucepan, over med-low heat, stirring frequently:
2 Tablespoons of butter, vegetable oil, or virgin coconut oil (NOTE: coconut oil will taste coconut-y!)
1/4 c honey
1/4 c sugar (I usually do half brown or half raw, but you can do all brown or all raw, or just skip the sugar and add more honey)
OPTIONAL: 1 tsp vanilla or 1 Tablespoon molasses

Once the warm mixture in the pan is well combined and sugar is just melted, drizzle a third of it over the oat mixture in the large bowl. Stir, drizzle another third, stir, drizzle the rest, and stir until evenly coated. It should have little bits sticking together. If it doesn't, heat up a little fat and honey and mix it in. If it's too clumpy, add some more oats and keep stirring.

Spread on a cookie sheet with a high lip (or in a 9x12 baking dish or large roasting dish), place in 325* oven, stirring well every 7-10 minutes until it starts getting brown. (My  husband likes it extra toasty, so I keep it going until some pieces are almost burnt!)

Remove from oven (OPTIONAL: stir in about a cup of raisins, dried cranberries, or other dried berry. Let cool completely (the less you stir while it's cooling, the more crunchy clusters there will be!). Store in a jar in a cool, dry cupboard.

Serve in a bowl with a lot of milk and fresh fruit! YUM
