This pattern works with three balls of yarn simultaneously. As you go, be careful to keep
the yarns from tangling by unwinding the work once after each round, and by carefully tugging tangles as you go.

This pattern works in CONTINUOUS rounds, not joined rounds. Do not slip stitch or
chain at the end of each row, unless instructed to.
Use any yarn/hook combo that will work up tight enough to not show the stuffing through the holes! I used a 3.25mm hook and worsted weight cotton yarn.

BODY:(worked in continuous rounds – do not slip stitch or chain at the end of each row, unless instructed in the pattern; just continue the next row onto the previous row’s first stitch)
WITH COLOR A
Make a magic loop.
Rd 1 – in the magic loop, ch 1, sc 6 (6) **PULL TAIL TO CLOSE**
Rd 2 – sc 2 in each st (12) **USE YARN NEEDLE TO SECURE TAIL SO IT DOESN’T LOOSEN**
Rd 3 – [sc 1, sc 2 in next] repeat around (18)
Rd 4-6 – sc around (18)
Rd 7 – sc 1 in each of next 17, sl st 1, tie off.
SWITCH TO COLOR B
Rd 8 – sc around **ADD EYES, BEAK, WINGS**
Rd 9 – [sc 1, sc 2 tog] (12) **STUFF BODY**
Rd 10 – [sc around] (6)
Tie off, leave long tail. Use yarn needle and tail to stitch closed

WINGS: (Make 2)
WITH COLOR A
Make a magic loop.
Chain 3
Work in loop – 1 dc, 2 tc, 1 dc
Chain 3 and slip stitch in magic loop.
Pull tail and secure with knot

EYES: (Make 2)
WITH WHITE Make a magic loop.
In loop, chain 1, sc 6, sl st to top of ch. Tie off.
Use yarn needle and black yarn to stitch eyes (you can also use plastic eyes or small buttons, if desired)

BEAK:
WITH COLOR C
Ch 3
Rd 1 – in first ch from hook, sc 1, sc 1 in next
Rd 2 – ch 1, turn, sc 1
Tie off, leave long tail
(NOTE: The beak is tricky to get into an even triangle, and it may look wonky at first. Be careful to stitch it on to the body so that the three points are placed correctly, and it should look fine.)

EAR TUFTS
Use 6" strands of colors A and B to thread through stitchs in row 2 or 3 (be careful to place them evenly!)
Knot all strands together and snip off to desired lengthUnknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8997862126434362978.post-12747345244703947942012-11-12T11:36:00.001-08:002019-04-21T15:03:03.866-07:00Fingerless Gloves (Any Size) - FREE PATTERN/TUTORIAL

Basic Fingerless Gloves/Wrist-Warmers Tutorial

Use any hook and yarn you please, though I suggest using stretcher fibers. If you use a non-stretchy yarn, crochet a little looser. :)

I prefer back-and-forth joined rows with odd rows worked in the back loops and even rows worked in the front loops. This will give the gloves a little more stretch and make all odd the ridges on one side.

I also like to use a slightly bigger hook to do the initial chain, then a smaller hook for the rest of the glove. This keeps the chain row from being too tight. For example, I'll use a 6.0 hook to chain and 5.0 hook to do the rest of the gloves.

1. With your larger hook, chain enough to fit loosely around your fingers where you want the end of the glove to reach. Slip stitch to join to make a circle.

2. In back-and-forth joined rows, double crochet each row until it reaches the inside of your thumb. Work odd rows in back loops and even rows in front loops to give the gloves more stretch and ridges.

3. Continue back-and-forth rows as in #2, but do NOT join, until long enough to comfortably connect at the base of your thumb.

4. Slip stitch to join

5. Continue back and forth joined rows until your glove is as long as desired. Repeat for glove #2.

You can make countless variations on this pattern. Add a broomstick lace edge, incorporate fancy stitches (like drop-stitch, as pictured), alternate colors for each row... whatever you can think of! Enjoy! :)
Breezybot Spiral Flower

Yarn weight and hook size can vary, depending on the look you want. For this example, I used worsted cotton yarn and a 5.0mm hook.

Make a magic loop (basically a reversed slip knot so that pulling on the tail tightens it) and leave it open to about a half inch diameter.

*Sc 1 in the center of the loop, chain 12

Working back along the chain, sc 2 in first st, then sc 3 in each of the next 10 st, twisting the spiral as you go (you can adjust it afterward – I just found it easier to do it as I went along)

Repeat from * until you have the desired number of spirals (6 works well)

Pull the tail from the magic loop to close it and tie off the ends

Finishing:
If you are attaching to a hat or something else, leave a long tail and use that to stitch to the item. If desired, sew a button in the center
